Bike Drive for Ukraine
DTCare, an international nonprofit has locations across the globe. As the Student President, my role is to lead the youth leadership program. I oversee student-led initiatives that combine creativity, collaboration, and global awareness to make a tangible impact.
Under my leadership, our student division has generated over $20,000 in donations each year, supporting humanitarian projects across multiple regions — including Ukraine, Sub-Saharan Africa, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Zimbabwe. Our work spans from gathering art therapy supplies for children affected by war to organizing donations that directly aid hospitals, schools, and youth programs around the world.
Fundraising is done in a variety of ways, catered to the various interests of the youth volunteers. Some include sponsoring girls’ volleyball camps in Bosnia and Herzegovina, facilitating art therapy programs in Mykolaiv, Ukraine, donating hospital equipment to kick-start a children’s hospital in Zimbabwe, and collecting bikes for children in Zorya, Ukraine.
These projects emphasize that humanitarian work isn’t only about material aid — it’s about restoring dignity, hope, and connection. Through my experience with DTCare, I’ve seen how youth leadership can inspire real global change. Every effort, whether small or large, demonstrates the power of compassion in action and the potential of students to make a lasting difference.
