https://www.cbsnews.com/pittsburgh/news/mt-lebanon-middle-schoolers-raise-money-for-ukrainian-children/ The attack on Kyiv left the world in shambles, affecting everyone across the globe. Vanshika was quick to give Pittsburgh a way to support Ukraine. Connecting small businesses and her school, she organized events around the community including a concert. She managed a big team of volunteers raising over 10,000 dollars to donate to the charity Save the Children. She also took a trip to Connecticut to help with packaging and shipping at the Save The Children warehouse. While volunteering, she heard many heartfelt statements, and personal connections to Ukraine. “Our world is a small place, coming from a family of immigrants, I resonate with their struggle as do so many others from Pittsburgh.” She said in a statement for KDKA news.
